As the coal prices | API index continues to move in the upward direction, there is a high possibility that Tanzania can resume the export of various grades of coal to international market. The local logistics cost is very high and for the Tanzanian coal industry to compete with the neighboring states the API4 index should remain above and in range of 120/130 $.  

The other limitation is the loading restrictions at port Mtwara which allows the maximum size vessel that can safely berth is Supermax size and loading via ships gear.  

We have proposed various 5100 NAR future shipments from Australia Peabody / Yan coal cargo to Indian buyer for west coast of India. 

Mr. M.K. Agarwal / Promoter of Bauxite mining visited Singapore & meeting for transshipment COA business held in Singapore at ST Regis and One Degree 15 marina for THIRTY million tons of Bauxite cargo spread over FIVE years commencing from 2023 1Q – 200 million USD project.
